Welcome to the 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Physical Education Class web site. The students in Mr. Glasser's Gym class are given the opportunity to learn about and participate in improving their physical education skills. This is done keeping in mind our Catholic values and using Diocesan curriculum guides as an outline for the course.

The Philosophy of the St. Joseph Regional School Physical Education Program is that it is an integral part of the school' total education program. As such it strives to develop qualities which enable students to learn through the study of physical education so that they may have affective, cognitive, and social-emotional development.

In an atmosphere that encourages self-confidence, students are able to make decisions, work cooperatively, and engage in new experiences which enable them to make healthy lifestyle choices. Recognizing God's gift of life and movement the participation in physical activities contributes to the acquisition of physical, social and psychological skills.

Announcements

Thu, Sep 10 - Welcome back everyone. The 6th, 7th and 8th Grades will be starting Gym classes next week along with the rest of the school. The first day of Gym class is orientation day where we go over the rules of the class and what to expect for the year. We will also be starting the President's Physical Fitness Challenge (P.P.F.C.). This consists of doing as many sit-ups and push-ups that you can in one (1) minute, running a "Shuttle Run", which is timed in the Gym. You will also be required to run a mile (8 laps) around the parking lot/recess lot in the rear of the school. And do a sit and reach to see how flexible you are. All of these events are scored and count on P.P.F.C. I will explain everything further the first day of class. If you have questions see me in class...Mr. Glasser
